5 Ways to Deepen Your Quiet Time with God (Even When Life Is Busy)

ree

Life is loud.

Schedules are full. And yet, there’s this quiet whisper in your spirit — longing to be still and meet with God.

But how do you make time for deep, meaningful quiet time when your world is anything but quiet?

You don’t need an hour-long routine or a Pinterest-perfect journal. You just need intention, grace, and a few simple ways to draw closer to the heart of God. Here are 5 that have helped me — and might just encourage your heart too:

1. Start with One Verse

You don’t have to read an entire chapter. Start with one verse. Let it soak in. Write it down. Read it aloud. Ask: “What are You saying to me through this, Lord?”

Try this: open your May Scripture Writing Plan and start with the verse for today.

2. Ask God to Speak — Before You Start

Prayer doesn't have to wait until the end. Before you even open your Bible, pause and say, “God, I’m here. Speak to my heart.” Let your time with Him be a conversation, not a checklist.

3. Journal What You’re Learning

Journaling is where Scripture becomes personal. You don’t have to be a “writer” — just be honest. Write your thoughts, your questions, your gratitude. You’ll be amazed at how God shows up in those pages.

Need a space to begin? Grab one of the journal pages from this month’s Faith Pack.

4. Use Music to Create a Worship Atmosphere

Play soft worship music in the background. Let your space feel sacred — even if you’re at the kitchen table. Invite God into the moment with melody and peace. I suggest Kutless, Mercy Me, or Micah Tyler

5. Make It a Rhythm, Not a Rule

Quiet time isn’t about checking a box. It’s about creating a rhythm where you and God meet regularly — even if it’s just 10 minutes. Some days it may be quiet, other days it may be chaotic. He’s there in all of it.

Friend, your quiet time doesn’t have to be perfect — it just needs to be real. And when you show up with an open heart, God will meet you every time.

Let this be the month you grow deeper roots in your faith, one quiet moment at a time.
